Recruiting volunteers – Clinical trial: Olive-pomace oil

We are looking for volunteers to participate in a study performed by a research team from the Department of Metabolism and Nutrition at ICTAN (CSIC). The clinical trial aims to assess the health effect of olive-pomace oil in comparison with high-oleic sunflower oil in both healthy subjects and cardiovascular risk group.

Inclusion criteria: women and men 18-55 years old; normal cholesterol and LDL (CT < 200 mg/dL and LDL < 135 mg/dL) and high colesterol and LDL (CT between 200 – 300 mg/dL and LDL between 135 – 175 mg/dL); BMI > 25-35 kg/m2, not following any medical treatment.

Exclusion criteria: suffering from other acute or chronic diseases. Taking drugs, hormones or dietary supplements. Being vegetarian or smoker. Pregnant women.
