The Scientific Committee of the II International Food R&D Brokerage Event has selected six ideas presented by Spanish researchers from different departments belonging to the Institute of Food Science, Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN). Researchers will explain their ideas to Food companies on 3rd and 4th June in Izmir (Turkey). The selected ideas are the elaboration of Octopus burgerbites from octopus by-products (PhD. Helena M. Moreno and Prof. Javier Borderias), energy drinks and spreadable creams based on cocoa and pistachio nuts (PhD. Miryam Amigo-Benavent and Prof. Laura Bravo). Other ideas involve the elaboration of edible packaging and protein hydrolyzed with high bioactive potential from crustacean by-products (PhD. Oscar Martínez y PhD. Carmen Gómez) and also the use of pistachio, pomegranate and carob to obtain ingredients and functional drinks (Prof. Fulgencio Saura-Calixto y PhD. Jara Pérez-Jiménez).
