ICTAN welcomes CIB and CENIM staff to its installations

This visit is part of the 1st Fraternisation Conference between the CSIC centres of the Moncloa Campus: Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Metalúrgicas (CENIM,CSIC) and Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas Margarita Salas (CIB,CSIC) and Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología de Alimentos y Nutrición (ICTAN,CSIC).

The Institute of Food Science and Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN, CSIC) welcomed colleagues from the centres belonging to CENIM and CIB on the occasion of the 1st Fraternisation Conference between the CSIC centres of the Moncloa Campus with a sharing of their research work and a guided tour of the main facilities.

The day began with an institutional welcome by the Director, Juana Frías, which led to a presentation of each department:

• Department of Characterisation, Quality and Safety (DCCS) by Graciela Blanch.
• Department of Metabolism and Nutrition (DMN) by Esther Nova.
• Department of Technological Processes and Biotechnology (DPTB) by Blanca de las Rivas.
• Department of Meat and Fishery Products (DPCP) by Gonzalo Delgado.

The following units were visited during the guided tour:

• Human Nutrition Unit (UNH) with Belén Zapatera and Sonia Gómez.
• Sensory Analysis Service Unit (USAS) with Tatiana Pintado.
• Analytical, Instrumental and Microbiological Techniques Service Unit (USTA) with the participation of Inmaculada Álvarez, Gonzalo Guerrero, Gema Campos, Beatriz Díaz, Estela de Vega, Cristina de las Heras and Cecilia Mateos.
• Pilot Plant with Ángel Valbuena and Antonio D. Molina.

The 1st Confraternisation Conference between the CSIC centres of the Moncloa Campus was created on the initiative of the Scientific Culture Units of the 3 centres, with the aim of strengthening scientific ties, learning about the activities being carried out in neighbouring centres and establishing possible collaborations.
