Short Bio
María Pilar Montero García María Pilar Montero García has a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid since 1988 and has been a Research Professor at ICTAN-CSIC since 2003. She is co-author of numerous indexed and highly cited publications (Highly Cited Researcher, Clarivate Analytics), as well as book chapters, etc., in lines within the field of food science and technology, especially the valorization of residues and by-products of the agro-food and fisheries industry, development of nanostructures and nano-encapsulates of bioactive compounds, as well as the design and development of functional foods, and films and coatings with special emphasis on their application in various fields of food and recently in other areas. These activities have always had a basic applied or technological study character. These studies are financed by national and international public and private funds, being a responsible researcher or co-responsible in more than 50 projects and contracts and participating in at least another 50. The transfer of knowledge to the company is a very important aspect. The training activities have been carried out through PhD direction, TFG and TFM, being an honorary professor at the UCM since 2015, and member of editorial committees.
