On Monday 29 September, scientists from the South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute (SCSFRI) in Guangzhou (China), belonging to the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, visited the premises of ICTAN. The Chinese delegation was integrated by Prof. Yang Xian Quing, Prof. Wu Yan Yan, and Dra. Hui Huang from the Division of Food Engineering & Quality Safety.
The meeting was coordinated by Prof. Javier Borderias and Dr. Francisco J. Morales with the aim to search for initiatives of collaboration between both institutes in the field of marine research area.
In detail, the areas of interest were:
i) Valorisation of by-products
ii) Bioactive peptide from fish discards
iii) Surimi processing
iv) Maillard reaction in seafood
v) Anisakis in fish and allergic reactions
